Workforce Development

The SMPDD Workforce Development Department strives to develop and sustain a qualified workforce. Our Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) Programs through the Twin Districts Workforce Development Area (TDWDA) provide assistance to businesses and industry, helping them locate, connect and develop their workforce. We offer career development and training services to jobseekers, preparing them to enter in career pathways that require advanced skills and strong wages. TDWDA Youth programs administered by SMPDD bring work experience, mentorship, tutoring, and certification opportunities to tomorrow’s workforce. The Senior Community Service Employment Program (SCSEP) is an employment program for low income individuals aged 55 and older who are looking to transition to into permanent jobs.
